About this resource: Gio’s Garden’s mission is to nurture and strengthen families with children with special needs (birth through 6 years) by increasing their access to needed services. Gio’s Garden provides therapeutic respite care in a professional, developmentally supportive, fun, home-like group setting. Children attend Gio’s Garden a few hours each week while families have the opportunity for a short break. There is a cost for this program, though financial assistance can be provided.

Waisman Center

About this resource: The Waisman Center is a specialty facility focused on advancing knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases. The Waisman Center offers clinical care, as well as autism behavioral treatment programs, Community Outreach Wisconsin, and Waisman Early Childhood Program.
The Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic has paused referrals until March of 2022. They are looking to work through their current waitlist. All other clinics that the Waisman Center houses are still receiving referrals. Families looking for ASD evaluations should be referred to their Regional Center, for information on other options of providers.

About:
FUNNE offers monthly support group and educational meetings in Spanish for families with children with special needs. As a collaborative effort of area providers and organizations, FUNNE offers families and caretakers of children who have a disability the tools they need to overcome the barriers they face in obtaining care and support for their loved ones. Education provides the foundation needed to understand and best handle their child’s needs. Program activities include group discussions, presentations by experts and providers on community resources, and social events. Child care is provided and children do fun educational activities while their parents meet. This program is made possible through grants from the Apostolate to Persons with Disabilities along with the support of many community partners.
