About this Resource: The ETA program provides bus passes for employment search. ETA is a transit-based fare-assistance program. Service area is Metro Transit boundaries. Individuals must complete a Transportation Intake Form.

​

Who can use this resource? The ETA program is available to unemployed and low-income persons seeking employment. The Transportation Call Center will review the Transportation Intake Form to determine eligibility. Individuals enrolled in Long-Term Care through Family Care, Family Care Partnership, and IRIS are not eligible.

  • After your application is processed, the bus passes will be mailed to the address listed on the application.

    • If the patient cannot receive mail, the patient must indicate that on their application and then can pick up their bus tickets at DCDHS Transportation at 1202 Northport Dr.

Work-N-Wheels Program

About the Resource:

 

The Work-N-Wheels program provides zero-interest car loans and family financial planning courses to low-income workers. A loan recipient is required to ride-share where possible. This is a revolving loan fund. The service area is typically rural Dane County. View the brochure here.

Who can use this resource? 

​

The Work-N-Wheel program is available to rural low-income workers. Loan applications are approved by the Southwest Community Action Work-N-Wheels Program.

About this Resource: Rideline provides scheduled, individual rides to work, job interviews, volunteer opportunities, education, or training. Door-to-door and accessible vehicle service is available. Service area is all of Dane County. (Generally, a temporary transportation service)

​

Who can use this resource? Rideline is available to rural persons and persons outside of public transit. Individuals must live in their own homes and apartments. Individuals enrolled in Long-Term Care through Family Care, Family Care Partnership, and IRIS are not eligible. A Transportation Intake Form may be requested to determine eligibility.

JobRide // YWCA

About this Resource: JobRide is a program that provides transportation for low-income people going to/from work. This service operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Only used for transportation to areas that are inaccessible during non-peak public transportation hours which include nights, weekend, and holidays.

​

Who can use this resource? Individuals who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Service area is within Madison, Middleton, Monona, and Fitchburg).

**There is a cost for this program (Pre-scheduled one-way rides= $60/month, Pre-scheduled round-trip rides= $120/month, One-time rides=$3.00/trip)

  • If so, fill out a JobRide Application  or apply online.

 Once you are enrolled in JobRide, you can also register with the Rideshare, Etc. Program. You will then receive a voucher for a cab fare if an emergency arises when you are at work. (http://www.madisonareampo.org/rideshare/GuaranteedRide.cfm)

Joining Forces for Families (JFF)

About this resource: JFF has a very limited number of 2-ride tickets to distribute each month. The bus tickets are usually gone halfway through a given month.

​

Who can use this resource? Anyone!

  • Call or go to your nearest JFF office to see if they have bus tickets available.

    • Navigators can check nearest location and call before sending patient to a JFF office since ticket availability is so low.

FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET)

**Patient must be enrolled in FSET already to receive transportation resources

About this resource: Patients enrolled in the Food Share Employment and Training program are eligible for bus tickets.

​

Who can use this resource? Patients already enrolled in the Food Share Employment and Training program.

  • Contact the Dane County Job Center at 608-242-4900 (option 1) to discuss bus tickets.

  • If you cannot get through to the Dane County Job Center, you can try Capital Consortium at 1-888-794-556 for more information (However, expect this to take a fair bit of time…hard to get through to a representative).
