About:

• The EDP provides limited scope representation to City of Madison residential tenants with eviction related legal problems.  If potential clients contact us regarding an eviction case which has already resulted in a judgment or for which they have already been to court, they will be instructed to visit us in-person at the Courthouse in the Law Library. They should bring all relevant documents with them at that time including proof of income (if any), court papers, notices, and rental agreements.  

• Madison tenants who have not yet been to court, but are facing termination of tenancy or an upcoming Tuesday eviction hearing may receive a call-back from us at our office for an intake appointment.  All potential clients looking for representation to come to the project at least an hour before their scheduled court date. Until an EDP attorney signs an agreement to represent a tenant, the tenant remains responsible for their case, appearing for all hearings, and meeting any applicable deadlines.
