Legal Assistance:
Services include providing court-approved forms for court and legal actions, as well as informational booklets on civil court processes for a small fee. In addition, the library contains resources for people who cannot or do not want to hire an attorney. Staff will show you how to find legal information to assist with your legal research. Eligibility: Open to all; books have limited circulation.
Costs:
Forms, booklets, and photocopies are available for a small fee.

Legal Assistance:
Callers talk to an experienced legal assistant who can assist in locating the best sources of help. Assistants generally refer callers to one or more of three services:
Lawyer Hotline:
An attorney answers a caller's simple legal question.
Lawyer Referral:
Caller is referred to a Wisconsin attorney who practices in the area about which the caller is inquiring. Community Referral: Referrals to community resources for low income, gov. agencies, consumer protection, and others. Eligibility: All Wisconsin residents
Costs:
Free service, unless the caller makes an appointment to speak with an attorney. In this case, the attorney will charge potential client no more than $20.00 for an initial half hour consultation.
